Species-specific description: According to O'Toole et al. (1994), this disorder was reported by Korovetzkaya (1938) to be inherited as a recessive trait in Large White pigs in the Soviet Union. Although definite evidence is lacking, it is possible that this disorder is the same as motor neurone disease, lower.
